Call for Volunteer Mentors to join the Youth Frontiers program

MTC Australia | March 19, 2015

MTC Australia is calling for 300 volunteer mentors to assist young people in the South-Western Sydney, Western Sydney and Nepean regions as part of the Youth Frontiers program, including Bankstown and East Hills.

Regional Coordinator Suzan Stewart said the exciting new initiative is a great opportunity for residents to provide support to young people in their local community.

“The Youth Frontiers program will see students collaborating with positive role models to undertake a community project that will build their life skills and self–confidence,” she said.

“Through this initiative, residents will have a chance to make a positive impact on the future generation.

"We would like to hear from members of the community who are passionate about helping a young person on their journey.”

The Youth Frontiers program will provide mentoring to students in years 8 and 9 throughout New South Wales. Participants will undertake a project that will benefit the community as part of the initiative.

Young people participating in Youth Frontiers will receive a minimum of 30 hours mentoring, including at least 10 hours of one-on-one mentoring.

The NSW Government initiative will give over 1200 young people the opportunity to participate in the program.
