Employability Skills Training – Course Payments

MTC Australia receives funding as part of our core service offering to help ensure that particpants have the job search skills they need and the employability skills that employers want.

Why are the costs of the Employability Skills Training (EST) course not funded by the department?

Training Block 1: Introductory

Our Introductory Employability Skills Training (EST) courses, which covers employability and job search skills, is considered a core service offering of employment services providers and is therefore fully Fee For Service ($1,250 per participant).

h

Training Block 2: Generalist

Employability Skills Training (EST) course gives EST Participants more targeted employability skills training and a taste of various industries to help them decide which one is right for them as well as understanding how they can enter this industry by focusing on transferable skills and employer expectations.

l

Training Block 2: Specialist

This course, focuses more on industry-specific training within Retail, Hospitality, Construction or Care Industries.

Both Block 2 EST courses are not a core servicing requirement for employment services providers, therefore, the government subsidises these training options (for employment services providers other than DES), so the Fee For Service is lowered to $300.

Payments by course type

MTC Australia must charge referring employment services provider (excluding Yarrabah) the applicable EST fee (listed in the table below) if we accept a referral for an EST particpant at commencement.

The EST charge can now be paid for out of the Employment Fund. Referring providers will be invoiced once their particpant commences the EST Course.
