Aida’s Story

Like many others, Aida lost her job during the Covid lockdowns. Undeterred she turned to MTC Australia’s Skills for Education and Employment (SEE) program for help to upskill and secure sustainable employment.

Skills for Education and Employment

Aida, an accomplished seamstress from Ecuador migrated to Australia, seeking a new start. Always eager to learn and work, she pursued cleaning jobs. But when COVID-19 hit our shores, like many, she lost her job.

Undeterred, Aida decided to invest her time in learning and upskilling. She enrolled in MTC Australia’s Skills for Education and Employment (SEE) Program in Liverpool. Through the SEE program, Aida learnt how to use a computer, how to create her own resume and how to apply for jobs online.

While learning how to apply for jobs online during a class, she asked her SEE Trainer to help her apply for a job at the local club as a cleaner. Two days later, Aidia interviewed for the job, and she was successful Aidia is now the cleaner at the Liverpool Catholic Club. Well done, Aida!
