DESE praises MTC’s innovative approach

MARRICKVILLE, 26 APRIL 2022: MTC Australia hosted guests from the Department of Education, Skills and Employment (DESE), including Miranda Lauman, DESE’s First Assistant Secretary, and Jo Verden, DESE’s State Manager ACT/NSW, who visited for a presentation on our service delivery for the Skills for Education & Employment (SEE), Career Transition Assistance, and New Enterprise Incentive Scheme programs.

While at MTC’s Head Office in Marrickville, the guests from DESE met with our CEO Colin Lloyd, and observed a SEE class before being presented with an update on the innovative approach MTC is taking to course delivery for our customers.

We have recently introduced industry-specific, contextualised short courses that prepare our students for employment with practical skills for industries such as warehousing, childcare, cleaning, retail, and office work.

Our innovative approach to co-delivery course options also allows our customers to work towards and achieve nationally accredited Vocational Units of Competency while simultaneously developing their English language and digital skills, helping them find employment faster.

The guests from DESE praised the high level of innovation that is embraced by MTC’s staff and students.

“It’s impressive to see the level of innovation that (MTC) brings to their customers; it’s something (they) should be proud of,” said Ms Lauman.

“It’s great to see that level of innovation,” continued Ms Verden.

The guests from DESE were especially impressed and inspired by the stories and testimonials from MTC’s customers that were presented to them.

“The level of focus on customers is fantastic,” said Ms Verden.

“It’s inspiring for people to see,” said Ms Lauman when talking about MTC’s publication and promotion of our stories that highlight our customers’ success and progress on their chosen path

The visit was a success, with the guests from DESE ensuring they left on a positive note, commenting on MTC’s warm and personable atmosphere. Anne Coleman, Account Manager at DESE, praised MTC’s “friendly and nice offices,” with Ms Lauman agreeing that “people are very friendly here”.

MTC is looking forward to a long and successful relationship with DESE so we can continue to help support our customers create a life of their choosing.
