MTC was established in 1989 in Marrickville by a team of just three. Now we’re a group of 450 dedicated people working at more than 40 locations across NSW and Queensland and every year we support 20,000 people with new skills, confidence and opportunities.

At MTC, our Skills for Education and Employment (SEE) Business Courses provide a quicker path to enhancing your English language, literacy, numeracy, and digital skills while working towards a certificate. With over 35 years of experience, we’ve crafted these courses to empower you to achieve your goals and create a life of your choosing.

Our Courses

We know that pursuing education can sometimes feel daunting, so we offer personalised support services to build your confidence and support your long-term career aspirations. If you do not have a background in Business, have learning barriers or lack confidence and require extra support on your path to achieving a Business certificate, these courses are ideal for you. Each class is assigned an additional SEE Trainer to help address any barriers and provide personalised support to ensure you are able to complete the course units under the guidance of one of our qualified Business Trainers.

Our business courses are delivered with the support of two trainers; a Business trainer specialised in the content and an LLND expert to support your learning.

BSB20120 – Certificate II in Workplace Skills

This face-to-face course provides a solid foundation in general office administration skills. You will gain practical knowledge and skills to prepare for entry-level roles such as:

    • Administrative Assistant
    • Data Entry Operator
    • Information Desk Clerk
    • Receptionist

Throughout the course, you will improve your Language, Literacy, Numeracy and Digital Skills while receiving support for job applications, resume building, interview techniques, and creating professional profiles on platforms like LinkedIn and Seek.

BSB30120 – Certificate III in Business

This face-to-face course offers a variety of career options in diverse business settings. You will develop a broad range of technological, business, and practical skills to prepare for roles such as:

    • Medical Receptionist
    • Records Clerk
    • Administrative Assistant
    • Customer Service Representative
    • Medical Secretary

As part of this course, you will improve your Language, Literacy, Numeracy and Digital skills while receiving the support you need to apply for jobs, build or revamp your resume, obtain practical job interview techniques and establish your professional social media profiles such as LinkedIn and Seek.

Key features of our SEE Business Courses

These courses incorporate a team teaching model (SEE Language, Literacy, Numeracy and Digital skills expert and a qualified VET Trainer).

Delivery Method: Face-to-face.

BSB20120 – Certificate II in Workplace Skills:

10 units, minimum 20 weeks.

BSB30120 – Certificate III in Business:

13 units, minimum 26 weeks

Worth 25 PBAS points per week.
