Warda’s story

After working as an auto glazier in Lebanon for 23 years, Warda came to Australia and found the same type of work. But lost his job due to COVID and he found it difficult to find new employment because of his limited English communication skills.

Warda’s story is a true testament to the transformative power of education and the impact it can have on one’s life. When he lost his auto glazier job due to the COVID pandemic, language barriers made it difficult for him to find new employment. Determined to improve his skills and find a new job, Warda enrolled in MTC Australia’s Skills for Education and Employment Program. He immediately applied himself to doing well in the program, working closely with several trainers to enhance his communication skills and build his confidence.

Warda joined the Fairfield MTC outreach class at the Fairfield Library, where his trainer Brian worked with him to create a resume and encouraged him to start applying for work in the auto industry.

With Brian’s help and connection to an automotive training consultant, Warda secured a job interview with Instant Windscreens and Tinting in Seven Hills. Warda’s newfound confidence and improved communication skills shone through in the interview, and he was offered a full-time job as an auto glazier.

Congratulations, Warda! We wish you all the best in your new job.
